Merry Christmas to You!!!!

Boy, am I ever exhausted after our fun-filled morning of Christmas carols; sledding, hokey pokey dancing; hide-n-seek behind the Christmas tree and even throwing snow on eachother's heads :). Meet Mr. "W" (2.5 years old) and Lil Miss "K" (1.5 years old). I have had the honor of photographing both these beautiful little Angels since birth, so imagine my excitement when Mom wanted Holiday portraits of the two of them together. I love watching the wonder and amazement in a child's eye as they experience the first snow of the year, but this snow was special.......................It came directly from the North Pole and get this...................it's not even cold! :> Enjoy your 'sneak peek' Mr. & Mrs. "K". As always, your children are such a JOY to photograph. Thank you for this amazing honor of watching them grow and change through the years. :>

What a Sweetie Pie

Meet Lil' Miss "N" who is 4 months old. She was SO unbelievably sweet and loved to carry on her own little 'conversations' with me from time to time. She even rolled over for the very first time (Another reason I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE my job..............I get to experience these 'firsts' with families and watch the wonder and amazement in BOTH Mom & baby's eyes. :>). Lil' Miss "N" also found great joy in discovering her feet today and as you can see, she was quite mesmerized by them. Enjoy your 'sneak peek' Mrs. "L". It was WONDERFUL meeting you and your precious baby girl. I look forward to an amazing year watching your precious lil' angel grow and change over the next few months.

Happy Birthday, My Sweet, Beautiful Mother

I am fooling only myself when I say my mother exists now only in the photograph
on my bulletin board or in the outline of my hand or in the armful of memories I
still hold tight. She lives on in everything I do. Her presence influenced who I
was, and her absence influences who I am. Our lives are shaped as much by those
who leave us as they are by those who stay. Loss is our legacy. Insight is our gift.
Memory is our guide.
~ Hope Edelman

"Your Mother is always with you.
She's the whisper of the leaves as you walk down the street.
She's the smell of certain foods you remember, flowers you pick and
perfume that she wore.
She's the cool hand on your brow when you're not feeling well.
She's your breath in the air on a cold winter's day.
She is the sound of the rain that lulls you to sleep, the colors of a
rainbow. She is Christmas morning.
Your Mother lives inside your laughter.
She's crystallized in every teardrop.
A mother shows every emotion .......... happiness, sadness, fear,
jealousy, love, hate, anger, helplessness, excitement, joy,
sorrow... and all the while, hoping and praying you will only know the good
feelings in life. She's the place you came from, your first home, and she's
the map you follow with every step you take.
She's your first love; your first friend, even your first enemy, but
nothing on earth can separate you. Not time, not space...not
even death!"

It just doesn't seem possible...............Happy '64th' Birthday, Mom. We love you and miss you more than words could ever say! Your grace and love is a never ending rainbow that shines inside of each and every one of us and we will continue to look to the skys above for your guidance and think of you always when we see those amazing rainbows you shine down upon us. Happy (1st) Birthday in Heaven, Mom. I know God is throwing you the biggest, most amazing party you've ever experienced. :>
Sweet Dreams, Honey!

Our very own 'Cover Girl' Star

I'm sure you don't recognize this sweet little face because she's changed so much since her newborn portraits, but this is my beautiful Lil' Cover Girl Model from the front page of my website Meet Lil' Miss "E", now 6 months old. I know I say this all the time (because I just LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE babies), but "I'm in Love!!!". This Lil' Angel just melts my heart with her huge, beautiful blue eyes and sweet, sweet disposition. (Not to mention, she has the most PERFECT little head I've ever seen too!!!!) It's angels like this that make me remember why I LOVE my job SO much!!! Enjoy your "sneak peek" "G" family! Déjà vu (I swear I've photographed this baby before :)

WOW, this beautiful baby girl is an exact clone of her big sister. Meet Lil' Miss "A" now 6 months old. I've had the honor of photographing her big Sis since birth (who's now 2 years old), so I was just thrilled when her Mama called to bless me with the honor of photographing her new little blessing, Miss "A". And, oh, what a spitting image she is of her big sister. (See the last 2 pictures of this post below to see what I'm talking about. I cannot get over how much they look alike). Miss "A" is a dream baby and even had a tooth popping through during her photo session.............you'd never know it b/c she was full of BIG smiles and giggles.
Enjoy your 'sneak peek' "L" family. I cannot wait to show you the rest.

Beautiful Family on a Beautiful Fall Day :)

Meet the 'Arg 5' Family who is not only beautiful on the outside, but their hearts and fun loving personalities make them just as beautiful on the inside as well. (They're also a whole lot of FUN to hang out with too! I don't think I've laughed this much in a long time :) Thanks for the giggles kiddos). The weather was our only threat tonight, but the 'Rain Gods' were definintely kind to us this evening and decided to hold out on the showers until we were finished with our session (the rain poured down as I walked in my front door following our session. PHEW, we got lucky there).

Well, Arg '5', enjoy your sneak peek. I cannot wait to show you the rest!!! :)

"The Last Lecture"

Ok, so I'm killing time before the Holiday rush of sessions begin next week (YAY, I'm so excited to see you all :>) and have been finding a lot of enjoyment lately reading. I just started the book "The Last Lecture" by Randy Pausch (God rest his soul) and I just have to say.........................It's absolutely WONDERFUL and utterly AMAZING!!!!!! At the time he wrote this book, he only had a few short months to live (he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer for those of you who don't know of him or haven't seen his "last lecture").............Here this man is in his mid 40's with a terminal illness and he has to face the fact that he will soon leave behind his beautiful wife and 3 very young children, YET, his outlook on life and "living" are just amazing and so admirable. One phrase he wrote that really struck me and that I keep going back to is this one:
"We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand".
That's definitely one I will be adding to my book of inspirational quotes and poems. So, anyway, for those of you who haven't had the chance to see this amazing man's last lecture, take the time to do so (the short version is 11 min. long) and for those of you who want a good book to read~~one that will give you a different outlook on life~~definitely make this one your next purchase.

Wishing all of you beautiful blessings and God's comforting wings in whatever challenges you might be facing yourself. :)

Being on the Other side of the Camera:>

Oh my goodness, this was SO much fun. My family and I were priveledged to have had the HUGE honor of being photographed by another VERY WONDERFUL and talented photographer a few weeks ago in Ann Arbor (By the way, this is my new obsession for all of you in the Spring........................Urban shots on the streets of Ann Arbor. Can't get any better than that. Especially for all of you U of M fans. :>) I would have thought being on the other side of the camera for me would have been rather intimidating, however, Mr. D was not only incredibly talented, he's just an all around fun/nice guy who made us feel SO comfortable right from "Hello". Kind of neat to actually have a glimpse into what y'all go through in planning for a photo session with me (not to mention, I experienced first hand, my own little (almost 3 yr. old) stinker giving Mr. D a hard time, so I can truly relate. LOL) I'm also blessed and honored to have a new friend and colleague to "introduce" you all to........
